Class Announcements Reading LogsHello!
We are excited to start reading logs in our class! Reading independently improves fluency and comprehension. Students brought home an October calendar yesterday. Students are required to read at least 20 minutes each evening at home (weekdays only). Parents, please remind your child to write the amount of time read in the correct calendar square. They need to then have you initial under the time read to verify that they read for that amount of time. If you read to your child at home, you can count those minutes as time read as well, but please ask your child questions about the story you are reading to check for understanding. You can also ask your child to retell each page after you read orally to them. We are working on this strategy in class! Students will turn in their reading logs on Fridays for me to check. I will return them on Monday mornings. This will be an ongoing homework assignment this year. Reading logs will count as a homework participation grade. Happy Reading!! Ms. Bunce Welcome back!I'm really excited about this school year. I'm sure that we will prove to be a quality class both in behavior and academic progress! Keep up the great work Gold Medal Third Graders!!!
